Introducing New Top Level Domain Names to the Internet
Adrenaline TLD Inc. has a long road ahead of it before it’s able to bring internet users five new Top Level Domain extensions. ICANN has set out a number of bench marks prospective registry operators have to meet before being approved to operate a Top Level Domain space, these include:
- String Review
- Technical Capability
- Operational Capability
- Financial Capability
Adrenaline TLD Inc. is working hard to make sure we pass ICANNS criteria with flying colors so that we can begin the process of taking new registrations as quickly as possible.
Once transitioned to delegation by ICANN, Adrenaline TLD Inc will begin taking applications and signing registrars who will take applications for domain names in the five new Top Level Domain Spaces. Adrenaline TLD plans to provide registration process on launch that accommodate for ICANN’s recommendations, safeguard the rights of various global parties and provide security for internet users. These include:
- The provision of sunrise periods for rights holders, professionals and organizations
- The provision of landrush periods where applicants can secure highly desirable names
- The blocking of reserved, restricted, special and offensive names
- The provision of multiple term registrations
- The provision of dispute services
According to ICANN the application process is due to begin in the first half of 2010 with the review process due to last between 7 and 12 months. Adrenaline TLD Inc. hopes to be in a position to take registration applications sometime in 2011. Watch out for Adrenaline TLD Inc. in the news, slopes, parks and beaches near you in the coming months as we launch our promotion and outreach programs.
Once launched Adrenaline TLD Inc. envisages quick adoption of the five proposed Top Level Domain spaces across the internet. Our aim is to have 250,000 domain names registered in the first year of operation across the five proposed extensions. As we grow over the years we intend to foster development in the managed spaces by providing new opportunities to associated registrars for the development of those associated with actions sports.
